The latest advancement in broadband technology, fibre optic broadband a.k.a fibre broadband a.k.a fibre internet is promising super-fast speeds for all of your daily internet needs. Its name comes from the use of fibre optic cable, which allow for faster data transfer, compared to the standard copper wires or coaxial wires which are used in regular broadband connections i.e. DSL or Cable Broadband respectively.
'Truly unlimited' data has no usage cap, no limit, no throttling and no traffic management tied to usage volume, meaning you will always receive the fastest service your line and type of broadband will support and allowing you to download and upload as much data as you like, so you can use the Internet as heavily as you wish with no associated penalties.
The term “Symmetrical Download and Upload” a.k.a "Symmetrical Bandwidth" means that the download and upload speeds (or bandwidth) are the same. Download speed is the rate at which data is transferred from the Internet to the user’s computer and vice versa for upload speed. Hence, if you have a symmetrical internet connection, you will be able to upload big data (such as videos or music) to the internet whilst you are also downloading large files.
Broadband services provided is a best-attempt service ("best effort") which means the potential line speed cannot be guaranteed. The potential speed that can be obtained will depend on the load on the line at the time of surfing the net. It is also known as "shared service" broadband because it is typically shared data lines amongst few users. You share the same uplink to your Internet Service Providers as your neighbours, and as such, your upstream link fluctuates with the traffic your neighbours push over that same stream such as at peak times.
Computers use IP addresses (such as 220.127.116.11) to locate and talk to each other on the Internet, much the same way people use phone numbers to locate and talk to one another on the telephone. A fixed a.k.a static IP address is assigned to a computer by an Internet service provider (ISP) to be its permanent address on the Internet.
